Definition
* CM and RM - A
"mechanical contractor" means a contractor whose services are
unlimited in the execution of contracts requiring the experience,
knowledge, and skill to install, maintain, repair, fabricate, alter,
extend, or design central air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating,
and ventilating systems, including duct work in connection with a
complete system. A "mechanical contractor" shall not perform any work
shall not include any work such as liquefied petroleum gas fuel lines
within buildings, potable water lines or connections, sanitary sewer
lines, swimming pool piping and filters, or electrical power wiring.
Experience Needed to
Apply
MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR:
4 year
construction-related degree from an accredited college (equivalent to
3 years experience) and 1 year proven experience applicable to the
category for which you are applying, or
4 years proven
experience as a workman or foreman of which at least one year must
have been as a foreman, or
2 years proven
experience as a workman, 1 year proven experience as a foreman, and 1
year of credits for any accredited college level courses, or
1 year proven
experience as a workman, 1 year proven experience as a foreman, and 2
years of credits for any accredited college level courses.
And,
MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR:
Experience must be in air conditioning; refrigeration; heating; boilers; unfired pressure vessel
systems; installation of gas, air, vacuum, oxygen, nitrous
oxide, ink, and chemical line piping; piping and
installation of gasoline tanks; pneumatic control piping;
condensate piping; and
piping for lift stations.
