Conditioning "B" Contractor
Definition
* CA and RA - A
"class B air-conditioning contractor" means a contractor whose
services are limited to 25 tons of cooling and 500,000 BTU of heating
in any one system in the execution of contracts requiring the
experience, knowledge, and skill to install, maintain, repair,
fabricate, alter, extend, or design central air-conditioning,
refrigeration, heating, and ventilating systems, including duct work
in connection with a complete system. A "class B air-conditioning
contractor" shall not perform any work such as liquefied petroleum or
natural gas fuel lines within buildings, potable water lines or
connections, sanitary sewer lines, swimming pool piping and filters,
or electrical power wiring.
Experience Needed to
Apply
AIR CONDITION "B" CONTRACTOR:
4 year
construction-related degree from an accredited college (equivalent to
3 years experience) and 1 year proven experience applicable to the
category for which you are applying, or
4 years proven
experience as a workman or foreman of which at least one year must
have been as a foreman, or
2 years proven
experience as a workman, 1 year proven experience as a foreman, and 1
year of credits for any accredited college level courses, or
1 year proven
experience as a workman, 1 year proven experience as a foreman, and 2
years of credits for any accredited college level courses.
And,
CLASS "B" AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTOR:
At least one year of
experience in the
installation, maintenance and repair of heating and cooling systems. Remaining experience must be in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or servicing of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment.
